The territory
The Apulian hinterland is full of small villages that offer an exciting tour of the interesting historical, cultural and natural heritage of this region.
On the border between Puglia and Molise is Serracapriola, a millenary village, rich in history and medieval remains.
The heart of the town revolves around the oldest religious building in Serracapriola, the church of Santa Maria in Sylvis, built according to legend, on the spot where the roe deer knelt when the Madonna appeared.
Adjacent to the Church stands the Maresca Castle, an imposing and majestic medieval fortress with a rich architectural heritage dating back to the year 1000.
From here extends the ancient village made up of narrow and winding streets, paved in stone.
Another peculiarity of the town is the Convent of the Capuchin Fathers which hosted San Pio da Pietrelcina during his studies.
All surrounded by an uncontaminated natural landscape with horizons rich in vast expanses of vineyards and olive groves.
Tenuta Ferrero is the fruit of love for agriculture and for one's country.
“…the fertile hill, the superb castle, the churches, the village, the flowering of almond trees, olive trees, apple and peach trees, green meadows, the always clear sky, the enchanting landscapes like frescoes…” so says a poem dedicated to Serracapriola.
"We take care of our vineyards and olive groves with passion and sacrifice, respecting the tradition and teachings of my father, to safeguard the wine and olive-growing heritage that makes Serracapriola rich and well-known at the cost of hard work"
Nicola Ferrero
